Highland Fishing Tackle is an online trading arm of Forres Tackle Shop. We went live in February 2010 due to the overwhelming damand for our hand tied and designed salmon flies. Flies that have brought great succes to fishermen across the globe using our flies.

Forres Tackle Shop is located in the town of Forres, Moray in the Scottish Highlands.  The river Spey is possibly one of the best known salmon fishing rivers in Scotland if not the UK and is located just a few miles from Forres.  Forres itself lies along the banks of the river Findhorn, also well known for its salmon and trout stock.

The Scottish Highlands is literally laced with prime fishing rivers.  Every season seen a rash of new and returning anglers to these rivers, all of whom will return home hopefully with stories of major catches, fights and the tales of majestic landscapes and mighty river courses - every one a winner!

The Highlands of Scotland is renowned for its scenery and nowhere more so than the Spey valley -

This is a place of relaxation and for exciting outdoor pursuits, exhilarating adventures in a landscape that has changed little for hundreds of years.

The dark peaty waters of the Spey and most of the highland salmon rivers are moody – sometimes slow, wide and placid, often rushing and aggressive, but always packing a promise of the silver treasure that lurks below – the famous Scottish salmon.

So it’s not surprising that Forres Tackle Shop is located here.  Owner Ken Walker, a keen angler himself and former ghillie/Guide manages the busy shop personally and still finds time to tie flies in-between offering advice to visiting anglers and issuing fishing permits for the local rivers.  According to Ken, “It’s a busy – sometimes hectic lifestyle – especially throughout the season, but with a passion for the rivers and their harvest, it’s never a chore".
